3 great things about fall style

By on September 2nd, 2014

So with Labor Day over we can now turn our attention to the fall and the cooler weather that’s just around the corner. Although I do have a soft spot for the bro tank (only outdoors and only when it’s really hot out!) I am looking forward to the staples of fall.

That being said, if you’re feeling a little bummed about the change in weather bringing the mercury down, consider these three positives about how you can have fun with your fall style.

1. You can layer

Finally!

After all, it’s a bit tough to showcase any style when all you have to work with is a T-shirt and pair of shorts. But with the cool air of fall comes the opportunity to wear all the favorites. You can pull out that vest, the long sleeve Henley and of course, your jackets.

Layer with the finer textures nearest your body and work your way out.

2. The return of the neck ties!

If you’re like me, you ditched the neck tie altogether during the hot summer months. But when the temperature hovers in the 70s and below you’ll be just fine not venting at the collar.

So say hello to your old friends in the closet and put them back into regular rotation.

3. Sweaters

Sweaters are awesome. And if you are shaking your head in disapproval right now, you better consider investing in a higher quality thread next time because a great sweater should feel soft and comfortable, not itchy and obtrusive.

Throw a fine merino or cashmere sweater on over your oxford dress shirt and you’re good to go. And if your shirt is nice and tailored and not cut too long you can leave it untucked and peeking out from under your sweater (this look is popular again).
